Amy Avery / Avery Ames

Amy aka Avery (she/her) is a graphic designer living in Kansas. She writes under Avery for her self-published work, and Amy for traditionally published books.

She writes novels that toe the line between glittery and dark, for lovers of fairy tales and a little romantic spice.

In her books, she often includes the bi characters and sex-positivity she wishes she had read in stories when she was younger. Avery also loves to explore themes of mental health, as she has Bipolar II and is a strong advocate for de-stigmatizing mental illness.

When not writing, she can be found playing video games, tending a small herb garden, crafting cocktails, or feeding her nail polish addiction.

She has tw self-published novel out in the world, Cambiare and its sequel Serenade. Her traditionally published debut, The Longest Autumn, will be published by Flatiron Books in early 2024.

D.C. McNaughton

D.C. McNaughton (he/she/they) is an oil painter and adult speculative fiction writer based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Once an industry illustrator for role-playing games like Pathfinder and Dungeons and Dragons, the last four years have been primarily focused on foolishly (perhaps) quitting those illustration jobs, and following their dream of writing stories—a dream that has come with a lion’s share of study.

D.C. grew up in a poor, close-minded town with a very low-end education, and always had trouble grasping comprehensive reading, among other things. Socializing was also never easy, living on a mental health spectrum that very few people still fully understand. Because of these hurdles, it was necessary to put a great deal of study and time into the writing craft, as well as learning how to socialize, to better understand dialogue. Now that they’ve more or less figured it out, D.C. hopes to become a teacher and advocate for others, especially those who come from similar situations, poor educations and families, and unique places of mental health.

D.C. is a sex positive, genderfluid, pansexual, polyamorous creator. They currently live on a homestead with their wonderfully huge family of six, with chickens, and vegetables, and horses, and bees (someday soon).

They are represented by Sara Megibow of KT Literary.
